SPECIAL FEATURES
Gov. Jacinto Borja High School is a unique from the other
school. It is located beside the cliff. The school building overlooks the plaza
and it is also surrounded with trees. It has also clean and green environment.
Since the school is situated in a quite mountainous area,
most of the students go to school by walking from distant places.
COMMUNITY PROFILE
Gov. Jacinto Borja High School is located in Cantaongon,
Loon, Bohol. It is appropriately more than 10 km away from the Poblacion of
Loon. It is a cluster of 18 baragays of the municipality which comprised more
than 25 percent of the total land area of its town and is located on the northeastern
highland of Loon. The barangay has seven sitios and with three voting precincts.
It is run by a Barangay Captain, seven Barangay Kagawads, one Barangay
Secretary, one Barangay Treasurer and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman.
Cantaongon is four kilometers from the Loon proper. The boundaries
are Candaigan in the north which is 1.1 km, Canmaag in the south which is 3.2
km, Bagacay Kawayan in the east. The common transportation is motorcycle but
still it is accessible.
Folks from the Cantaongon are very sociable. Celenrating
fiesta is still existing to preserve the Filipino traditions. They also uphold
the bayanihan spirit most especially in the time of need. Organizing the group
called “Dajong” is very important wherein the members will shoulder the
finances for burial and other needs when somebody cries.
Most of the people living here are religious. Church
organizatios are participated by the most of the residents. This is one way to
express their faith and love to the Almighty Father.
